Gainsborough meet TOMORROW
Hi Dolphin families,
Hoping to wrap up a great season with a big win against Gainsborough tomorrow night, June 25! Their address is 1961 Gainsborough Drive, Chamblee, GA 30341.
This is a LONG email with tons of information...Please be sure to read this entire message! Here is what you need to know:
Coach Kaleigh has already finished the line up. If you have NOT already told the coaches that you will NOT be at the meet, please do so ASAP at firstname.lastname@example.org
Time: Arrive by 4:30 p.m. at Gainsborough Pool and check-in with Coach Emily at the gate. This will allow time for your swimmer to get settled and have their arm marked if not done at practice Monday morning. Team warm-ups will begin at 5:00. The meet starts at 5:30 with our 6&U relays. **Important Parking Information can be located at the end of this email.
Swim Team T-shirts: IF YOU HAVE NOT PICKED UP YOUR SWIMMER'S SHIRT OR CAP, EMAIL FARA OR MERRIE SO THEY CAN GET THEM TO YOU AT PRACTICE ON MONDAY MORNING. We are pretty sure most of you have received yours...
Volunteers: Please check in near the bullpen when you arrive at Gainsborough even if you are a 2nd half volunteer. It is important that all volunteer roles are filled. Below is a link to the jobs for the swim meet. If you have not signed up, please do so. f something happens and you are unable to fill your role, at this point it is your responsibility to find a replacement. Thank you for being willing to help work the meet! We only need girls bullpen for 7/8s first and second half!! Please sign up if you are able to help!
Changes in events: If you have a last minute change and are unable to swim, please let Coach Kaleigh know ASAP at email@example.com
Concessions: They will have full concessions including salads, hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken sandwiches and much more. They will also have a Kona Ice truck or King of Pops.
Inclement weather: In case of inclement weather, please come to the meet no matter what. If there is lightning/thunder, the meet may be delayed but will be held if at all possible since scheduling make-up meets is a challenge. In case of bad weather during the meet, I will communicate via Remind. Thank you for your understanding.
Ice Cream: We will have ice cream after the meet to celebrate a great season! Please come back to Georgetown after!
Tuesday morning: No practice! We will invite ALL swimmers--including Nemos--to come to our last "Donuts and Ribbons" on Tuesday morning at 9:45am. There will be donuts and juice available for the swimmers, followed by a few words from our coaches. Swimmers may then receive their ribbons from the night before (all meet swimmers receive ribbons). Kids can then have free swim until 10:45am. At 10:45am, all swimmers must get out of the pool so that the Life Guards can have the pool ready to open to membership at 11:00am. Members are welcome to stay with their wrist bands on. If you are unable to come and receive your ribbons, they will be waiting for you in a file box in the guard shack. Each swimmer has their own folder that their ribbons are in. If any ribbons are missing or incorrect, please let the coaches know.
Practices: Monday will be the last practice for both our competitive swimmers and our Nemos! If you are attending the ASA Divisionals at GA Tech, there will be practice for you on Wednesday morning--I will email you separately about that.
End of Year Banquet: Our end of year celebration will take place on Thursday, June 28, from 5:00-7:00. Please be sure to RSVP if you have not done yet done so.
Contact Information: If you must absolutely contact someone at the meet, Fara Yarbrough's cell phone number is 404-374-2731 and Merrie Bouton's cell phone number is 678-358-8510. You can call or text if you must reach someone once the meet has begun.
Thank you for reading until the end, and thank you to all of our families for your dedication to our swim team. Go Dolphins!!
Fara & Merrie
Parking information: From their team rep: Please drive slowly through our neighborhood. We have a couple of home owners (non-club members) who complain to the Chamblee Police Department about “speeders” along Gainsborough’s streets during swim meets. Chamblee Police will be patrolling the area in response to those complaints and I’d hate for anyone to receive an unwanted souvenir. Our parking lot will be reserved for your team’s use. Parking attendants will be there to help once the lot gets full.
